Depending on the coin OH YES! There are may coins which are one year types and some of them are rare. Even a dateless coin can be identified for those type and they can bring a good price. 1793
Half Cent, how about the draped bust small eagle half dollar. Two year only type and it's a five figure coin in AG. I'd pay $1k for a dateless one. The same thing goes for some coins which are not types, but are recognizable varieties. A dateless 1916
Standing Liberty quarter is over $600. I'd probably pay close to $1k for a dateless S-1 chain cent. There are plenty of others.
