John 1 I apologize but I do not know for sure what you're answer is. I did look at all the pictures. I'm also going to go back and save them to phone so I can go back and study more and have already bookmarked page so I thank you for the info. However ftm I do not know what you are saying. I saw photos on top and bottom that are similar to mine. And I went through entire list 4 times to see if it's one you mentioned but it wasn't

No need to be sorry. The type of doubling I am seeing on your coin is MD. The link I provide was to show you and other members that there are many types of doubling that we need to learn, some have a premium and some do not. I once lived not too far from you in Grabill. John1

I agree looks like MD to me too.

Well fudge. Oh well at least this time what I saw was there just not in the way I thought . Now if I may I have another question. Why is md not an error or collectible. In my head you tell me that the machine that does it does something wrong, a machine programmed to do one thing only, does something different before it's left the mint how is that not basically an exact definition of what makes an error coin mistakes made to coin before it leaves the mint. I understand how mint mark when they were stamped by hand wouldn't be. Though I'm confused on what constitutes an error when they polish to hard and change machine. I've even seen some people try to call the bag marks errors and people will buy them but it didn't happen til it left the mint.

An error is a one-off thing when a variety is many of the same things. Some people do collect MD, but since there are many of the same MD it holds little if any premium. Hope that helps you a bit. John1

John you know I really don't know the grabill area very well. I am trying to remember which way it is. Was that in the direction of leo-cedarville? I know it's not too far just not good with directions lol. I do like the smaller towns around here though for some peace and quiet now and then. Mayor Henry is having a crap ton of work done on fort Wayne to make it another tourist trap . Did you ever come here?
