Photos? Maybe a plated coin? You might want to fix your title to include denomination. John1

John may have nailed it. A lot of the ATB series were plated aftermarket which would increase the weight. Look at the edges to see if you can see any sign of copper, if not then they have been plated.

Keep in mind, the mint doesn't weight each planchet. Only the gold coins are weighed. Weights can vary as surface thickness can vary. But seeing the coins would be more helpful. Maybe something visible can be discerned from images. So the coin is slightly over tolerance. But does the edge show the copper layer? Some coins were plated in the past States Series and that would add a sight amount to the weight. But if they were plated, the are not legit coins to a seasoned collector. Images would show us this. Thus the need for images to see why it is overweight a bit.

I think I see the copper on the edge,so most likely not plated. Double check your scale is the next thing to do. Also, when posting photos always best to post one full coin pic of the obverse and one of the reverse as well as one or two close ups where and when needed. John1

No need for more pictures. They have not been plated and if your scales are accurate, then with taking in the tolerance difference, they are slightly overweight.

overweight clad coin can happen. the rolled out metal wasn't thinned out properly. But this can become an issue if these were silver, where over weight coins could cost the mint

So what's it mean if it's over weight? Is it considered a error?
