Pics are overexposed, but I'll venture MS-62RD at best, just a stab. To me just a spender.

For me it is just a spender. I do not know way some say it is a nice find. 1963-D was 1 bill coins. This one it is IMO an circulated coin by the marks on and characteristic of the year in Denver to be low level strike. Yes it is relative clean coin for 1963 on those times but not more then this. Sorry I hope you can find an 67 63-D.

The pics actually take away just how brilliant and mirror like this one looked in sunlight earlier!! I started looking up where proofs were made that year, because the luster! Could signal a rescue plane with some sun this thing is so shiny

Quote: is it common to find '60's Era pennies this nice? Definitely not common, but not unheard of either. The cost of ownership is low, so of course keep it if you want! Added: not exactly the same year or grade, but this linked thread is another example of a CRH find roughly contemporaneous with yours: http://goccf.com/t/421585

I included the close ups to ask a question, not sure if you can tell, seems to be almost a small, raised area, on almost all elements, but u can especially see em on any horizontal bars, like E's, A's, and more so on the bottom and top of the C's and O's. Is that from maybe a newer die? Opposite of an over polished die?

While not common to find high AU to Low MS '60s cents in rolls, it does happen now and then. Your example would be a good hole filler until something better comes along. If you like it, keep it.

Well the only thing this coin has going for itself is the red color . Pretty banged up , lots of issues . Keep searching .

So any thoughts on the raised, "ridges", that seem more prominent on the horizontal bars of most elements on the reverse?

And by the way guys, I realize this guy has some "body work" that he needs and it's not like I'm sending it to be graded and slabbed!! I was just impressed with his condition after clanking around in circulation for almost 6 decades!!
