Hello all, I have for your enjoyment A 1963 P bright, obviously circulated, Lincoln Cent. A first for me because I am calling a DDO-106 on the obverse and a DDR-107 on the reverse. Unfortunately, my record in finding a doubled dye is abysmal so I went to our friends at Copper Coins and studied their pictures to try to see if I made a match. So, I think (hah) that the coin looks like it does, but it shows some wear and tear, so I am not sure. Anyway, take a look and let me know your thoughts! I appreciate your comments and welcome them. Regards!

i dont know where you get DDO-106 and DDR-107.
1963 only lists up to DDO-014 and DDR-027 on varietyvista.com.

recommendation: if you are going to use coppercoins.com to identify the variety, one use the coppercoins' variety numbers.

I'm just seeing a normal coin. Machine Doubling on the left sides on ONE CENT. Just a normal coin.

What do the numbers mean on the attributed dies? Why do they do not match up with each other on the Doubled Dies and the RPMs? Check out the link below to find this information. coop

1963P-1DO-006P, 1963P-1DR-007P.
Do you know what the 'P' on the end means? It stands for Proof coin. Your coin is not these dies because it is a normal business strike cent with some slight Machine Doubling. Not a doubled die or proof.
Proof surfaces will show the spread a lot easier to see. This one is one I'm not matched up yet. But so you can see them easier:
1963-P-Lincoln-Cent-DDO-/-DDR-Combo
1963-P-Lincoln-Cent-DDO-/-DDR-Combo
1963-P-Lincoln-Cent-DDO-/-DDR-Combo
1963-P-Lincoln-Cent-DDO-/-DDR-Combo
1963-P-Lincoln-Cent-DDO-/-DDR-Combo
1963-P-Lincoln-Cent-DDO-/-DDR-Combo
Note the devices are very smooth, the fields are very smooth. That is because they are double struck. They can be affected by Machine Doubling and die polishing, but they are limited strikes. Only 3K coins struck with these dies. (6K strikes) Compared with Business strikes the dies could have a many more times that number:
1963-P-Lincoln-Cent-DDO-/-DDR-Combo
Thus the extreme die wear we see on some of the dies as they near retirement.

no problems...

1do-006P and 1dr-007P are varieties on a PROOF coin.

if that is a proof coin, that is one ugly proof.

Hah, I even missed that! Not a good day for me. Quite a few mistakes. No excuse for that, I know better. Tired today didn't sleep well. My apologies.
