I have come across what seems to be a very odd 2012 Roosevelt dime. I am not sure if this is a striking error or what else it really could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I know nothing of fun collecting, the varying degrees of circulation, or the values therein. All I do know is that this dime is from 2012 has a mint mark of Denver and the weirdest bulges I think I've ever seen on any sort of coin. It almost looks as a ghost is trying to escape it.

As you can hopefully see from the pictures, the upper left of the obverse side (by Roosevelt's forehead) and to the right of the flame on the torch on the reverse side both have swelling and bulging. I am not sure how this could be anything but a mint error, yet for the life of me can't figure it how it would be either.

Any info at all, or if anyone has seen something similar, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
tpmeader

Not an error
Bulges are usually caused by heat damage.
We see these quite frequently on this site.

Agree, heat is the likely culprit.
