Hi I would appreciate some help on this coin, it's a 1953-S Lincoln Wheat penny. I can't seem to find any error like it. Any ideas? The reverse of coin looks normal just the obverse have never seen anything like it.

So damaged by mint ? The nose is missing and the chin and you can see those pieces below on the coin.

No not there. Rather this coin was damaged after it was struck. It is pretty much just worth face value.

People alter coins all the time. The mint makes, the public breaks them. So it is now a cull coin. The damage removes interest to serious collectors. While different, they are a wrecked car to a collector. Still a damaged Wheat cent though.
