Just watched these go on ebay for $470 CDN

I debated bidding but I just don't have the knowledge being a primarily Canadian collector.

Do they appear genuine?

All counterfeit. Most likely brass with a thin silver plating, made in China.

The large amount of negative ratings is a red flag for the seller.

Odd that the seller calls them " Peace dollars".

Fakes to my eye. They just don't have the right look to them, and all have the typical Chinese fake finish seen so often on modern counterfeits.

I messaged the seller and just shared that they're likely fake and he sent me a screenshot that he cancelled the order and seemed apologetic. So maybe it's an unknown sale, not a targeted scam.

What exactly are you guys seeing to spot counterfeits? For example: Is it the lines going all in one direction with the third image and top two coins as if it was scrubbed down to give it authenticity? Any examples or specifics?

First and foremost, all examples are no mint mark which makes the 1895 a proof only issue and that is not a proof.

To me, it's the color of the coins. Very simply, it's off.

I see numerous red flags that would keep me from bidding. Questionable Authenticity.
