I really appreciate the link, thank you

I just went there but could not seem to be able to bring up photos of any 1981-d Lincoln cents . I read everything several times but I am probably missing a simple step

Besides trying to learn about these coins I have to learn how to photograph and search on the computer. With me being an old fart, I find it hard to learn all the computer capabilities. Would you believe I am an educator by trade just not on computers.LOL

However I know a GPS inside and out because that's what was important to me (hunting and fishing) now I am paying the price and trying to play catch up.

A little hard to be sure, but that looks like a RPM to me too.

It does seem to look more like RPM-001, I guess I tried to match the die markers and didn't see die polish lines. The more I look at it the more I think you are correct.

I'm on the fence about it being an RPM, possibly isolated MD but definitely not RPM-001, the mm location is off.

It is just Machine Doubling. Not a RPM. Note on the image above. The RPM is on the top serif. On the image on the left it is Machine Doubling (incuse) on the left side of the devices. (including the center. On the RPM, there is nothing showing a spread on the center of the mintmark. Your coin is not a RPM, just Machine Doubling.
This is the same damaged mintmark punch that was used on the 1982 all denominations coins also.

I see what you are talking about. This can sure fool us rookies
However here are some different pictures and I am still trying to wrap my head around this.. Correct me if I am wrong but if this alleged RPM is not listed then it's not a RPM? It is possible to have a RPM and it's not listed yet?
