Not sure about this one. A local collector said it has some special interest as to the extra hair above the ear. What I would like to know, if nay at all, is the silver content.
Many thanks for looking

40% silver. Above the ear looks normal. The 1964 is known with a type with the hair above the ear.

As stated, contains 40% silver with weight around 11.5 grams for a silver content worth just under $5 US.

That was just a one year issue on the hair line. 1964 Accented hair proof.

The reverse has an issue with Lathe lines on it:

There are markers for the obverse as well:

Seems like this could be a single die issue, or a single obverse/reverse hub issue for that year. Never heard it confirmed either way. If that is so, if it were a single die issue, the Proofs only struck 3000 coins. (6K strikes) So I'm not sure it is was a single dies issue, or a single working hubs altereation? (There goes my brain, thinking again)

but this was only on the 1964 proof accented hair coins. Nothing know for the the 1968 halves.
