I came across this quarter and wanted to ask for any help about info about it. Its only about half the thickness of a normal quarter.

The reverse has been ground or sanded away leaving about half a coin.

Looks to be intentionally ground down, definitely post mint damage as nothing like this could happen in the minting process.

Some pubs in Great Britain still play a game called shove ha'penny where a halfpenny is shoved across a wooden or slate surface. The action wears down the coin exactly like your quarter.
I know, I got stung on ebay with a uniface halfpenny.

maybe shove quarter has taken off in the states?

Can you tell us the weight of the coin in grams? it looks like damage and the weight will tell us if it has been ground or buffed down.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

In the future please crop your images and lay them on something flat. We need more coin and less cruddy fingers.

Here's some help....

yes, I agree, this coin was intentionally damaged - sanded/ground down, almost to the copper core (I can see some of it starting to show)
