Wrekkdd Pillar of the Community Canada 3328 Posts	Posted 06/20/2022 08:42 am I wonder if it might be a bit of a mix of MD over DDD, you should hang onto it for reference. I had a lot of trouble with doubled dies when I started and as you see more examples of all forms of doubling they start to just stand out to you(at least in most cases) I have seen a few examples of doubled dies that were flattened by MD, idk how hard it would be if I saw a doubled die with DDD and MD to be able to tell of it was a doubled die. Practice and study make perfect(or at least better lol) in a hobby like this there is truely no such thing as perfection imho, even the most seasoned experts learn new things every now and then(I'm far from a seasoned expert). If we saw other areas of the design, the devices on the left side of the coin will be showing the same Machine Doubling die direction. If the opposite is happening on the left side of the coin, then it could be DDD. Note on the motto area, the devices are all showing a push from Machine Doubling an an aging die. Note on all of the devices we are seeing a push on the metal that forms the right side of the devices, and the rest is mush. DDD starts on the fields of the affected areas. So I''m learning towards Machine Doubling an an aging die. Images of the other areas will reveal what is really going on with this coin. Report this Post to the Staff

Which pretty much left me with nothing but silvers, S mints, W mints and common errors and die breaks and chips. So I am still without a DDO or DDR. Report this Post to the Staff

The doubled dies on the post 1999 quarters are more in the centers of the designs. Note on the outer edges of the devices like the quarters of the past. The single squeeze dies creates them in a different area. So take a look at the listings for the locations of the doubled dies. Then you will know better, where to look for these. Dearborn Moderator United States 95740 Posts	Posted 06/21/2022 7:27 pm If you are going to be lookngi strictly for error coins, a good way to start finding them is to organize your coins by type/year/then MM (Lincoln Cent/1558/D for example) then got to CC (copper coins) or VV (Variety Vista) or other sites to get familiar with that coin and what errors to expect then hit the scope and search them.
