Yes, that arc-like feature was caused by a mechanical wrapping machine.

It be the dreaded Ring of Death, brother. Happens on all denominations that you can find in bank rolls. It makes us all cry when we see one.

yep the arc is from rolling - only found on 'ender coins' in a roll. The black deposits look like carbon spots.
