Is This 1964 Jeff 5c Proof A DDR ?

I'm thinking this is lighting/glare. Not seeing notching where I'd expect to and what may look like separation is in places it shouldn't be.

I agree with Tanman here, no real evidence of any doubling.

Tanman, Just curious, could you recommend photo examples of the how the notching and separation SHOULD look?

I looked at a few items from your homepage listed in your profile. Anything specific there that would be useful for me to study?

While I can't find an exact match on the sites, I feel this is a DDR. Note the 'ELLO' devices on this coin. That tells me this is a DDR.

A large majority of the 60's 5c doubled dies are Class II doubled dies, so the doubling would typically be towards or away from the rim. Because of this you would likely only see separation on the parts of the lettering that are parallel to the rim. This would be the horizontal lines of the letters. (Except for MONTICELLO where you'd see separation on the vertical lines of the first and last few letters)

Follow the direction of the supposed doubling on the coin. Your photos of EPU appear to be in the right direction but then move to UNITED where it looks to be going east, not towards or away from the rim.

I think the best proof that this is just lighting is the two pictures of FIVE you posted. Despite you having the one photo completely upside down, the doubling is always on the right side of the image. That's not the direction of any doubling, that's the direction of your light.
