Hi all ! I'm collect coins ( preferably pennies) and enjoy looking at them with a magnifying glass to observe and appreciate the casting, patina, design, etc. It all started when I was younger and my father and I would compete finding coins on the ground. As I've gotten older my children would say I'm a little 'obsessed' with looking everywhere I go. In saving for the year just to see, I pick up usually between $60-$80 a year. Not bad for free money!

I look forward to chatting with other coin collectors and gain some insight on some of my interesting finds!

Cheap numismatic neo classic art at it's highest level?
- A Weinman Liberty Walking half dollar, blast white, with cartwheel luster, in high MS+ grade.

Adolph Weinman, besides being a medalist of the highest order, was also an artist and a sculptor.

Even the artistically uneducated such as myself, can appreciate obviously excellent art.

It's much more lucrative to pick up modern coins off the ground in modern cities or so I find but then there is nowhere near the sense of satisfaction as you get from making your olde finds... is there?

Coins definitely are works of art! But don't forget about paper money.

Enjoy your stay!

to the CCF!

I too think that coins can be a work of art!

Here's one from my collection that I love to look at. It's a 1992 American Silver Eagle that has a large strike through. Whatever caused the strike through may also have caused the coin to tone over the last 30 years in the ANACS slab.

Hope you enjoy and I can't wait to see what you collect!
