I found a 1979 D Lincoln Penny flip over double stamped in a 20 year old jar of coins I had. I have no idea what kind of value this has. Any help would be appreciated.

@fli, first welcome to CCF. Second, can you please post crisper pics that are more uniformly lit? Thx. I'm interested to see what you have there, although I will say that almost 100% of the time these end up being vise jobs (manufactured damage meant to look like an error).

I can't satisfy myself that it is not a 'shed job'. In this case, opinions of others are most likely to be better than mine.

Shed job, not a mint error, 100%. The memorial is incuse, on any mint error except a brockage, this should be raised like on a normal coin.

Perhaps I was a bit blind in this case. The turned up rim fooled me somewhat. I was looking for incuse features, which would have been the result of impression of another coin in a high pressure squeeze.

In late (again). Agree with the assessments above--pending any addition of full, large and sharp images.

Thank you for your replies. Obviously I am a novice. I had never heard of a vised coin. I am afraid I agree it is one. Upon closer exam I can see the 2nd images are recessed and not raised.

I guess I'm following behind Ijn here. Sure looks like a 'vise' job done in the back of a 'tool shed'

Just seeing this post myself. Totally agree with everyone.
Also, the design alignment between the obverse and reverse are not consistent. This tells me two coins were placed on both sides of this coin.

to the CCF and I think all of us when we see our first vise job thought, man I found a good one. Then after pointing out, it's like oh ya I see it now. Keep looking.
