This is a "Best Of" on Wexler's site but is a "one star" on Coppercoins. I think it is somewhere in between. There aren't many stand out 71 S (Business) RPM's though.

I'm curious if there is hub doubling happening on the date here? The tops of the date devices appear to show some type of doubling (except for the 9). Thanks for your opinion on this.

Looks like the tops of the devices were slightly affected with Machine Doubling. Note even the tops of the '9' is also showing the same light MD on that digit as well. So it was probably from a high bounce contact. If it were a doubled die, then then all of the other examples of this RPM would also be showing that. They are not showing this. Thus I feel it was created by MD on this coin only.

Nice RPM and great pics, once again, congrats! I would have to agree with coop on the MD. I have seen similar MD that left notching, not common but happens. I made a point to find different examples of this die, on line and could not see any evidence, not even slightly, of doubling, so MD would be the only explanation, that I know of.

. Nice RPM Greg. I don't have the RPM but I think I've seen those notches before. And yes real nice pictures.
