Hi, I'm new to the forum, sorry if my posting lacks anything.. I found this dime at work, I normally hunt for silver coins and noticed a major difference with this dime. It has a strong mirror like finish, it weighs 2.5g, and the reeded edge is completely silver in color. I've been looking online and wasn't sure if this is a plated coin(like those gold/platinum plated quarters for example that they've sold on TV; I have a few State Quarters that have a similar look. But if anyone could help I'd appreciate it, I hope the pictures are good enough quality, they aren't as large as I wanted them. Thank you!

@tj, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes you have an impaired proof there. You should save it in a 2x2 to protect it.

Haha awesome! Thank you for the advice about the photos. I saw it in our change dispenser, super easy to skim them and pick out the odd ones. I usually find at least one coin a week, haven't found any error coins yet.

I'll have to buy a 2x2 like you said to protect it. Sorry I don't know how to directly quote reply to everyone.

I agree, impaired 2012-S silver proof dime. Nice find in circulation, can never hate getting silver for face value!
