This IHC is mind boggling. Also listed as a pattern under Judd

That coin is believed to be a pattern and to my knowledge is the ONLY certified genuine obv.-obv. minted coin.

I have seen an obv. obv. Washington quarter as well and it wasn't a magic coin. It was certified by NGC as far as I know.

I'm not aware of any obv/obv Washington, but there are three rev/rev Washingtons.

I though this cent mule had a rim Cud on one side. It looks like one might be present on the right hand obverse at the 6:30 - 7:00 position.

And the re-discovery isn't that recent, about nine years ago. And it may be the same coin that was first discovered and auctioned almost 100 years ago.

There's also at least one two-tailed dime. One of the two-tailed quarters may well be a "pseudo-mule" that didn't involve two reverse dies but instead was created by striking a quarter twice against a blank planchet and flipping it over between the two strikes.

Chris Pilliod presented a plausible scenario for the two-headed Indian cent involving the accidental pairing of two obverse dies. If he's correct, it would not a be a pattern.
Error coin writer and researcher.
