I was lucky enough to find a roll of red 1959 D Lincoln Memorial cent coins. I see this striping through several of them and I am unsure if it is a die error or post mint error. Your sage advice is always welcome and I look forward to your opinions. This after all a beautiful coin...also if you see anything else in it please tell me. :)

Those are abrasion lines from work done by the mint in covering up the die clash marks you can still see remnants of.

Since there is the remainder of a die clash in this should it go into the books as an error or go back into the roll to be sent on it's life?

I'd keep it as a fun curiosity--hint of die clash with strong evidence of aggressive die polishing done at the mint.

Extreme die polishing lines, nice close-ups.

That's the most and deepest "polishing" lines I've seen. More like grinding lines.

Note the clash mark is see near the forehead. So it is polishing lines. Note the reduction of the Liberty devices. It was a hard polishing that was very abrasive.
