on my 2004 michigan quarter why is the st and the D fatter than the rest of the letters and whats up with the way it looks what would cause the metal to look dull and shiny in different parts of the coin
Agreed, the ST and the E above it are the result of circulation flattening. the coloring is from toning - some of the coin was covered and not 'allowed' to tone out like the rest.
