Been looking through my nickel album, that was gifted to us from the paw in law, since I haven't really looked at any of the ones he already had plugged in album! Found this War Nickel with what at first I thought took a hit, or som other PMD, but after looking a lil closer, I'm not so sure? How did the ding go under the O in MONTICELLO? I'm not well educated when it comes to lams, but was thinking maybe this was a small example of one? Just checking to see what yall thought!

Note the bump on the eye and the head. Post Strike Damage.

Was in a rush taking pics before I left for work, so didn't have a ton of time to clear up the images, but how would it take a hit on the field, not the element?

Depends on what pressed the incuse marks on the coin. Figure in the incuse area and the tops of the devices were also pushed in the same amount. Thus why they a slumping out of the fields. Depending on the damage creator and the movement of the damage. The one end is blunt, but the other end reminds me of a struck through string.

To small to be cable wound metal.
Thread doesn't leave as straight a line when struck through:

It might something like this? Note how even thread prevents a full strike? Note even the devices are affected. So this maybe one. (Not much of a premium for this, but maybe what you have?)

I'm thinking more of a strike thru rather than a delamination.
