Hello, Came across a small hoard of nickels and found this 1942 nickel. Seems to me something definitely went awry. Looking forward to hearing from the more seasoned. Thank you and as always, you guys rock

It's got two large lamination defects on the reverse, and possibly a small clipped planchet. Worth keeping!

@zurie nailed it—lams plus a likely clipped planchet. Definitely worth saving in a 2x2.

Definitely a planchet de-lamination prior to minting.
