It looks like the D took a hit, I do not see RPM. Acetone is a good cleaner for coins and soak it for a day or so but may not remove carbon spots.

There's a product called verdi-care, made by one of the members here that's a chemist, that may arrest the corrosion process. It won't "uncorrode" the affected areas, nothing can do that, but it might stop the process from progressing.

Looks like the D took a hit, not a D/D.
Ziplock bags won't hurt coins. If you are storing circulated coins that are worth very little over face value, bags may be the way to go. I personally use tubes.
For that corrosion, I say don't mess with it. VerdiCare is too expensive to waste on common wheat cents worth 4-5 cents each. The liquid is you use would be worth more than the coin. The corrosion on your coin shouldn't spread quickly, so I think your collection will be fine.

But even Verdi-care won't help this coin.

It is just a Wheat cent with damage on the upper serif. It is were a RPM, it would show a spread on the upper serif like the RPM-002 has: Note, how the thickness is larger on those areas? In order for a mintmark to be a RPM, we need to see the double punching of the devices. (Spread will enlarge the overall size of the mintmark. That is why you coin is not a RPM. CoopHome: Why is this coin not a RPM? spread?double punches with a mintmark punch
