described as: no edge bumps or nicks and virtually flawless surfaces, light peripheral toning with underlying lustre.

Looks like some very minor rubbing on the high points. This one might make an MS grade, but I'd be at AU-58 to be on the safe side. Great coin.

i have to agree with AU55. doesn't look like any luster remaining and a little lower on the eye appeal scale

The luster may be masked by the blotchy toning. I'd say at least AU-58, but not the most attractive. It might be uncirculated, but it would be a risk to buy it as an MS coin.

I think this coin is better than the photos show. I see no signs of cleaning.

I think that the "toned" (dirty) areas of the field cling to the letters, Wings, leaves etc. and have quote sharp boundaries point to some kind of cleaning.

There are no major scratches or nicks though, maybe the coin could be much improved with a little acetone bath?

The coin looks like a nice original example. AU58. The coin is circulated, so fingerprints do happen. The fingerprint would not get me off this coin

Coin looks uncirculated to me, maybe a bit of light rub but I can see this getting a 62 from a TPG. If this were my coin I would dip it.

Not sure I'd feel comfortable dipping such a valuable coin. But it might be worth the NCS conservation fee.

Thanks for the responses. Auction estimate is for £300-500. I know auctions use these prices as bait, but this coin could be worth anywhere from £1000 to £3000 right?

If the coin details, the value would be around 1K. If it straight grades at AU58 about 3.5K.

Don't like the fingerprint. Slider.
If you are plunking down $1000+ for it, might as well send it for restauration.

Hi everyone. I requested more photos and received these, would have liked a full shot but nevermind, they're close up and high quality at least.
They said the only real mark is underneath the 'S' in Pluribus.
What do we think now? Thanks in advance everyone.
