Cool question! If you are talking this topic on any nickel from their debut in 1866 to now, 2022, it would have to be hands down the 5 1913 Liberty V nickels. They carry an approximately $1,000,000 dollar value or more each average. 1964 nickels from both mints are incredibly common except in gem uncirculated (MS-65 or higher).

I mean approximately, some of these 1913s went for several hundred thousand up to over $3,000,000.

I advise you to acquire a 2023 Red Book.

@coin, I recommend you use the search functionality of this website to look at old threads where the 1913 nickels were previously discussed. Here is a link to one with a pic of the date to get you started: https://www.coincommunity.com/forum...5&FORUM_ID=3

Coinseller88- It seems like you need a mentor. 1913 V nickel without a doubt is the answer. You can see pictures on google images.

Me I thing those kind of questions must be banned. To ask what was the most valuable nickel you handled or see, for me is more legitim.

@silviosi As a community, our goal is to educate new/inexperienced collectors, they gotta start somewhere, right? :)

@JTCC: thanks to remember this, you know with age go up we can miss some parts. The topic of this post is no sense for collecting. Do not help no one. If I tell you I have the 64 SMS nickel in my hand and collection, is the most valuable? NO Is just a rarity. So in this case how you analyze this topic.
Thank you teaches me something today.

Quote: Me I thing those kind of questions must be banned. Maybe a response like that should be BANNED...as stated we are here to educate. New individuals may not know the basics of coin collecting and may not know how to use the site correctly...and how to phrase a question. KK

if "out there" means "in circulation" the most valuable will likely be a high grade nickel with full steps on Monticello
