this penny doesn't have a full date and you can barely see his face. what's up with this? reverse is totally normal!

It is NOT a Mint error. Who knows what cause the damage, there a million possibilities, but it is just a damaged coin.

It does appear to be a copper cent, not a junky copper plated zinc cent.

Yes, post-strike damage--not a mint error. The reverse does show related damage on the rim. Curious about the weight of the coin?
