Picked this one in a LCS. I Really like this RPM and this is a great specimen. It'll be POP 7/0 once relabeled. 1961-D/Horizontal D Lincoln Memorial cent - RPM-001, FS-501

That's a beauty and awesome to have at a top pop grade. Amazing pick! One of those RPM's you're always happy to see, especially on such a gorgeous coin.

Wait, so a LCS sold this not realizing it was RPM-001?
Very nice RPM, coin, and pick!

Excellent pick and nice of the LCS to "save" it for you.

Thanks folks! Coinshops can be a fun, and productive, way to spend an afternoon. Just never know what is going to turn up and this one is a real winner.

Yep, you got it. POP X/Y is where X is the number of coins at that grade and Y is the number graded higher. So anytime the second number is a 0 you've got a top pop. Given just how many coin collectors there are hunting for the best coins, and the millions upon millions of graded coins out there, I always consider it a bit of an honor to own an actual top pop coin.
