This was sent in via bulk submission to PCGS through Variety Slabbing Service (VSS) and attributed by John (Messy Desk) Baumgart.
Bonus for easy VAM
I'm not a fan of toning...but I really like the obverse color.
Will post grade Monday evening.

MS-63, rare case where the reverse brings the grade down.

Nobody tried for the bonus VAM...that's ok...these can be a little tricky.

Grade seems generous. I was at 63, based on contact marks, obverse fingerprint, rim hit by B of LIBERTY, and so-so luster. Don't know if VAM 2A is particularly desirable but the doubling is pretty minor.

Glad you like it, though!

I thought for sure the reverse would hold that one to a 64. Congrats, you did well on it.

i think the lighting and shadowing are the reasons for the CCF grades. as for the fingerprint, I have seen quite a few slabbed coins with fingerprints and it did not seem to have any effect on the grade. not sure why TPG's ignore them since collectors poo-poo them and we always call them out. Anyone else notice this?

for me there are just to many marks/scuffs on both sides to make 65
