Um.in CHANGE from a grocery store. Go figure. LOL. Any thoughts? Should I send it in for a grade? Any thoughts on grade? I'm guessing at least 2x2 it, then keep? Still processing this was handed to me as change for some water. Edited by mbren116 09/04/2022 12:43 am

Nice find!
2x2 worthy, but not worth spending $$ for grading it.
I think the 2020 MBR W coin is the toughest of the 2020 W quarters to find.
Congrats!

Cool find. Yes, very 2x2 worthy. Given the photos posted the coin is likely in the AU58-MS61 range--not worth submitting for grading in my opinion.

Quote: I think the 2020 MBR W coin is the toughest of the 2021 W quarters to find. Why would you think that? With exactly 2,000,000 each of the West Point quarters minted, the chance of finding any particular type would be the same. In my case, I have 73 West Point quarters and 15.07% (11) of them are Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller.Since there are ten different types, ten percent should be the average. Hmmm! Maybe I am the one messing up the numbers! (ha)

Nice find and 2x2 worthy. Would this be considered a "type" and not a "variety"? John1

Nice find and congratulations. Definitely worthy of a 2 x 2 but as others have said not worth the cost of a TPG.

Very nice find, looks really nice for being out there for 2 years, but not worth grading. I found many W mint quarters, but never a Marsh Billings, in fact with the 'coin shortage' MBR is the only ATB Quarter I never got any new rolls of. Just going by percentage of mintage for each new issue, Marsh Billings would be the second most difficult to find, with the 2 million mixed in with 649 million total P and D mint quarters. Salt River had the lowest percentage with the 2 million mixed into over 1 billion quarters. War in the Pacific had the highest percentage with just 231 million P and D mint total to water down the 2 million W mint.

Quote: Why would you think that? My daughter and I searched hundreds of 500$ boxes of quarters during the 2 years that these W coins were issued. Some boxes were solid date D's with 15 to 40 W's mixed in and some had zero W's mixed in. Some boxes were just circulated coins with maybe one or two W's found. It was pure luck if you got any W's at all. Statistics are one thing, reality is another.
