The coin looks MS but your photo lighting is too bright to see the surfaces correctly. Can't grade from these.

Agree, pics too bright to see details clearly.

Yikes. Off to find a thread regarding lighting... I could use some tips! Previously I had not used enough lighting, but now I have too much. My camera or phone reflects off the coins and trying to get the pictures without reflecting my phone is an additional barrier. I have every type of lighting you can imagine - fluorescent, natural, white, yellow... is there one that is preferred over others? I've played with each and the light color reflects in the image.

Photo's washed out, but loose guess AU50 or better. Lighting can be a trick sometimes...takes practice....

Excellent photos! The deep hit on the cheek probably holds this to MS-63, but it's very attractive with nice luster.

without better photos the surfaces look flat with a hint of luster peeking though on both sides. the coin may have been dipped. i have a couple possible grades on this one. so we need some new photos to narrow it down
AU53 AU details (cleaned) MS63 MS63 details (cleaned)
try this. also use a black background, it may help
1. remove coin from holder if possible 2. turn off flash 3. place coin on flat surface with indirect natural light. maybe a window sill on a cloudy day 4. move phone about 3in from coin 5. zoom in using your fingers until the coin comes into focus 6. hold phone steady. if you cant then place something on either side of the coin at that distance and lay phone on top. this will hold it steady and allow you to zoom and take the photo without any blurring

Would the rim bump keep it out of MS grading? Still a nice coin and a date I need for my set.

In this case I don't think so.

MS62 for me. Have the camera lens directly above the coin, have the light or lights shining from 45 degree angles, sometimes better with morgans to tilt the light so it is almost shining underneath the coin. You want to be able to see the lustre so you just have to experiment with lighting angles.
