Hello everyone, I have this Presidential dollar that has other lettering on it besides the mint mark, date, etc. I researched it a little and found one discussion where this was similar but the photos presented were not very good. It is extremely hard to capture the edge lettering. This coin has what looks like a raised S near the P mint mark which is incuse. I would really like to know how this was done. Some have chimed in with maybe a hit just right on another coin. That I find highly unlikely with this coin. But I can't wait to see what the experts say. Thank you and happy coin hunting.

the lettering looks raised to me - possibly caused by being pressed against the edge on another dollar coin.

Yes, the letter is raised. I dont see how an raised impression could be left from smashing a coin together.
I also added a couple of screenshots of similar coins with this that are on ebay. Its weird how its only 2007 dollar coins can be found with this. That I could find anyway.

I'm really surprised at the lack of response on this coin

Well the normal devices are incuse. if two coins bumped with the edges, then a device would appear. But it would be raised, not incuse like the normal letters. If it were a doubled edge lettering, then all the devices on the edge would be affected the same. So this is just coin contact between two edges of two coins. Not a doubled die, just a circulation/intentional event that altered your coin.
