Low Pressure Strike.

Unfortunately, I don't think that's what you have. Rims are well formed on both sides and the affected areas aren't symmetrical. The reverse looks affected but not the obverse.

A light sanding/wearing of the reverse is the most likely explanation.

If weight is low for this coin, then it might have been sanded or altered.

A low pressure strike will not show rims on those coins:

Even a filled die will show rims on the strike:
