I was wondering about this 1965 quarter strike being evedence of A SMS. After several searches I could not find any reference that wou;d point to A SMS strike looking like that. As the coin shows wear as a circulated coin does it is obviously not a mint state coin. I am still courious about the look of the fields showing what I think are flow lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know your thoughts. Regards!

There are flow lines on both sides caused by deteriorating dies.

This it is a circulation coin. The die is aged and was re-polish and reused.

Here you has the both strikes of the 1965. Observe that the BS was strike once and the relief is higher then the SMS which was strike twice with a lower relief and a special polish of the planchet and the Die.
