Going back through some of my old notes and I had made one about 1967 and 1968 S Quarter transitional varities. The problem is that I didn't write down what that site was. Not seeing much on Wexler or VV for these. Would appreciate if you could steer me to a website that has these listed. Thanks.

Variety Vista would probably help with different issues
Quarters 1932-98:
Design Varieties Obverse:
http://varietyvista.com/09a%20WQ%20...arieties.htm
Design Varieties Reverse:
http://varietyvista.com/09a%20WQ%20...arieties.htm
Mintmark Styles Philly:
http://varietyvista.com/09a%20WQ%20...20Styles.htm
Mintmark Styles Denver:
http://varietyvista.com/09a%20WQ%20...20Styles.htm
Mintmark Styles San Francisco:

http://varietyvista.com/09a%20WQ%20...20Styles.htm
This might help?

Thanks Coop. I didn't check out 'Design Varieties' on VV. So a 'Design Variety' and 'Transitionals' would be basically the same then.

If you talk about the transitional 67 and 68, you discuss just about the Observe. The head was the transitional. The rest you find on the both years same. Reverse the both years use the varieties RDV-004. 005 and 006. hope help. No website will explain well those transitions which could be more complex then you think. Other transition you can find in IGWT but not for this years. In my guide of the design varieties (very soon will be printed) you will find those under the types of design varieties and not as transitional except a few years, in fact only 3 from 1932 till 1999.

Yes Gallego done a very nice job for design varieties. For transitional I will look if someone explained well. In fact we have on the quarter from 1932 to 1999 only one transitional which it is major. This happened in 1964 and 1965.
1964 we have coins struck in clad
1965 coins struck in silver.

A second one which I never see, but someone told me apparently exist is in 1998 when was struck coins with the Observe for 1999.

Hope this help.
