One of my favorite Half Dollars.
A lot going on with it including the only tilted die clash that I know of on a half.
The Strike Through is at the E of WE and the Y of Liberty. It's interesting and I have no clue what it was.
The obverse doubling is all over but the B of Liberty sets it apart from all the other Doubled Dies in the listings.
Tilted Die Clashes are some of my favorites. The outline of the top of Kennedy's hair can be seen through dollar on the reverse and bits of the letters of Dollar can be seen at the edge of Kennedy's hair

Hey that is pretty cool @sto.

Do I see a struck through thread coming off of the eagle's tail feathers or is that instead a scratch? I can't quite tell for sure.

There doesn't appear to be a pressure ridge where you pointed out so yes it could be a bit of thread.
Here is a pic of the stuck through at the Y of Liberty and a pic of a struck through thread above the Y of Liberty that I didn't mention.

OK I will start with the OBSERVE:
I see a lot of MD.; second: between T and Y I see an die crack, and the the Y has an struck trough
REVERSE:
1. die crack from F (half) to first L (Dollard)
2. No doubling present. here.

I see the design and I can say that was an old aged Die.

Question?: Where you see tilted die clash?!! Is not present here.

A triple threat! Doubled die is quite nice, great clash and lots of struck through bits. Odd-looking one by the E of WE but also can't figure out what that would have been.

Obverse
First, there is no Machine Doubling, it's hub doubling with possibly some master die doubling thrown in if you believe Wexler.
Second, between the T and the Y is a scratch on the government issued SMS case , not on the coin.
Yes ,the Y is struck through.
Reverse
The new pic that I am posting is an overlay of the area that you see as a die crack.
I offset the overlay slightly to show that what you thought was a crack is actually the tilted die clash
Yes there is no doubling on the reverse.
This is not an aged die. The opposite is actually the case as there is still some cameo frosting on the devices.

Image #5 looks like a die clash on the lower devices:

Possible struck through errors. Not sure on what Die number yet of the DDO?

There was an issue with that years working hubs

Quote:
The reassignment of numerous 1966 Kennedy half dollar obverse doubled die listings as being from the obverse doubled working hubs left huge "holes" in the obverse doubled die listings for this date. As an example, there were once 37 listings for the 1966 obverse doubled dies. Now there are just 12 working dies and the three working hubs. Many listings were assigned new numbers in order to fill the gaping holes in the listings. Notations of these changes are made for each of the affected varieties.

But you might check the listings below the WWHO die numbers? Just look at the PCGS listings and there are DDO-001-006 slabs. But I would question all of these as being a doubled working hub issue. (Making them common to find on different dies) Wexler has one listing with the WWDO-002 issue with more hub doubling from another hub issue, so I'd save them for now until we see what is going to be the future of these. Being slabbed creates a value problem for these listings.

While Wexler figures out how to list these , here is the Variety vista listing for this die pair. The reverse does have the stated minor doubling of the stars.

Wexler has his listing done. It is how the rest of the Groups figure out what to do with the issue. Sure the dies will have different markers, but the same working hubs created doubled dies from a doubled working hub. Thus why so many look like the same listings. But on the Op's coin I didn't see a match for that one on Wexler's listings on that side of the 'B' on Liberty. (So keep this coin safe for now) I plan on working up some images of the FS-101-006 coins later on.

You said in your post that the B in LIBERTY sets your half apart from all other doubled dies in the listings. In the CONECA master listings there is another with the CCW spread on the B in LIBERTY...the 66 SMS DDO-025. Yous looks to be the DDO-025. The DDO-015 does not have a clash on the reverse. The DDO-025 has that clash you show in your photo. Attached is a photo of the reverse clash on the DDO-025 in my collection. You can see it matches yours.
