Hello again.. I'm trying to understand the different error designations so let me see if this is correct. From what I've learned so far, this may be a DDD...? Sure looks like a double strike. Thanks.. Jim

Others might call this Machine Doubling. Suggest doing a google search on die detriortion doubling and Machine Doubling. Always fun.

From my understanding, DDD is only on single squeeze die making that started around 1999...coop.

Correct. DDD happens on those dies. DDD affects the fields on the zinc cents. This 1964 year had the multi hub die creation. So what you are seeing is Machine Doubling. All die can have die wear/abrasion/polishing.

Thus the devices can reach the edges of the dies:

But the DDD affects the fields on the cent dies, rather than the devices that are closer to the rims.
