"Die deterioration/wear is not considered to be an error at all unless it involves terminal failure of the die. Die chips, cracks, and deterioration doubling are an acceptable part of the minting process and are not screened out by the Mint. Most of the coins minted by a die pair during their life will be of the late die state variety and will show some degree of these issues. Once the die deteriorates to the point of involving majors breaks such as a Cud, that is when you have an error as that is considered to be a terminal state close to die failure. A die will be taken out of service if a Cud or major break is noticed because the next step would be a shattered die(a valuable and rare error)."

Yes, die chips and cracks are not mint errors.

Thanks for the update. So,by my understanding. If it's not an attributed error or variety. it's not an error or a verity?

Hmm not sure I completely agree with that statement. Some errors, like struck through cloth are one offs and not attributed anywhere. Others, like a nice Cud, generally have been attributed since finding the very first instance of anything is unusual.

Those are accepted by someone's. In reality are not error. An error in fact (really one's) is what it is a default of the Mint line production.

Now, the peoples and the market made those what you mention as errors, they are really? me I say no. Take example of a car: After 5 , 7 or 9 years start to fail. It is the production error or just normal usurers?
Same for coins. An DD it is an error but the rest of your examples me I do not consider, and very few real collectors will look for. Collect chips, cracks, and deterioration doubling has no end for any denomination you choice.

To days, we see on advertising everything as errors.
