Hello all, recently came across this coin. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to how or why. It is almost white in color, weighs 3.3 g. Does not jump to a magnet but it sticks. Thank you.

Probably plated. Have a couple like this as well. They're magnetic.

It is another plated cent, probably nickel, done after it left the mint.
We have been seeing quit a few of these lately.
No extra value.

@jam, yes someone has nickel-plated this cent. Fun to look at, but only worth face value.

to the CCF!

It may have been someone's attempt to fake a 1974 Lincoln Cent as if it had been struck on an aluminum planchet. The few real aluminum LMC weigh in at 0.93 grams. The mint estimates that 14 1974 aluminum cents were not returned to the mint after they were given to members of Congress for examination. Only one of these has been found to this date.

The current PCGS guidebook gives a value of $160,000 for the single MS-63 graded example.

While they can fake the look, they can't fake the weight
