I am interested to know your opinion about this dollar. How much $ would you value it at? What grade does he deserve?

This is a nice looking AU-55 to me at least, retail according to PCGS coinfacts is around $285.00 or so.

AU50, dipped/retoned
The chalky surfaces have zero luster

Why so you say "he" instead of she?

This depiction and on the Indian Head cent is both women, not men.

Low AU coin, looks cleaned/dipped and retoning now.

There is zero Eye Appeal here, and you will not get PCGS prices, so that's unrealistic.

Anything above $150 and I don't feel comfortable.

OP may not be a native English speaker given their location.

Unlike most things in English, inanimate things in Russian have a gender associated with them. A "coin" is feminine, but a "dollar" is masculine, and so is a "cent."

Some things do not have a gender at all ("neuter.") The noun "ear" has no gender, whether the ear is attached to a male or a female.

Pronouns must agree with nouns in gender, so if a noun ("dollar") is masculine, it will use the masculine pronouns - he, him, his, etc.

For fun, "car" is feminine gender in Russian, and in English you often, but not exclusively, hear people refer to their car as "she" -- she's a real beauty, she's a speed machine, etc. This is an example of how things would be if a "car" was truly a feminine gendered inanimate object in the English language.

To make things even more fun, an "automobile" is masculine gender!

@paralyse, right. I don't speak English. Google translator (and its analogues) helps me. Therefore, there may be errors in all my posts, but I hope that you understand me on this forum.

@paralyse, you have described the rule of the Russian language very clearly.

I am learning German for a few years now and it is the same way (and Spanish, which I already spoke) but Russian is more complicated because of having to learn the Cyrillic alphabet. I have only taken a very few and very basic lessons in Russian just for fun and because I enjoy learning about new languages.

Your English is good. Far better than my Russian.

the 86(O) are typically weak so the breast and hair around the ear is no surprise. the cheek is fairly clean from any marks. I'm thinking the coin was most likely dipped a little too much due to all the missing luster for a mid AU coin. probably grades straight. i'll go with AU55 but not at full value. maybe $175-200 range

Pics look a bit washed out, so I would attribute some of the sterile coin surface appearance to that. Assuming they have a bit more life to them in person, AU53/AU55 straight for me.

looks like mid AU is the consensus. a straight nice AU55 may go for $285 PCGS price the actual auction prices are in the low $200's and with the missing luster I agree that the coins actual value would not be that high
