I was doing some late-night shopping and guess what just happened to pop up. This was on the MSN main page as a 'Clickable' item. The actual seller is https://finestknown.com/product/192...GS-ms65-cac/

When the price has gone from $82,250 back in 2014 to $368,750 today, so I guess I miss my chance to have it at a discount.

I did have a good laugh that MSN has monitored my internet searching habits and thought that I might want to buy this coin.

I don't see the appeal on this example. Ugly obverse in my opinion. I suppose a pattern collector would be interested, but $300K?

It's interesting for its history but not for its appearance. The modified high relief 1922 struck on the production press has the same appearance of most high relief 1921's. It has the same poor high point detail on Liberty's hair and on the eagle's wing. More modification was necessary to get to the low relief design.

It is also interesting that this poor appearance is at the end of the die life, after only 3200 strikes. I have a couple very well struck 1921's, but it took a lot of searching to find them. One of them was struck with the proof dies ( VAM 1H), as a production coin. Maybe they were struck early in the die life?
