Whatever it is, I don't see the appeal. I mean outside of the rarity.

Interesting stuff. Here is the CoinWorld article from 2014: https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...ector-e.htmlQuote: It has the number "3200" inked in the left obverse field indicating it was the last coin struck from the production run of 3,200 before the obverse die failed. Very strange how some have the PF designation, while others, like this particular example, are labeled MS. They are made from the same dies...

Here's the reverse of this $300,000 coin. I need to apply for the position of Mint Director. They get to keep all the interesting coins. Click on the picture for a larger image

The reverse lettering looks indeed very different from your average PD. It looks much better in my opinion

Wing feather detail above eagle's legs not fully struck, either. Green bean provenance and all, does not look like some sort of high relief. I need to be educated, need some more info on it.

Well the lowest points of the high relief die were not reached by planchet material. Feathers, hair locks.

Here's the Stacks auction https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/l...-65-PCGS-cacThe description says "We know that at least one additional example of this trial escaped the mint." That one is NGC AU55. I suppose the others were melted. That it was "the last before the die sunk" is interesting because I see no sign of die cracks etc. Sold for $82,250.

Quote: i like that it has a cac sticker and graffiti. The "3200" is ink and not scratches. Just wanted to clarify the extent of the damage.
