I have found what appears to be a 1842cc Seated Liberty dollar...although price guides seem to say this coin doesn't exist. I would potentially be interested in selling this coin or consigning, but I'm trying to find some more information if possible. If you have any ideas it would be much appreciated. Thank you

Most likely a fake especially given the weak details on Lady Liberty on the obverse.

, yeah, with the above... Carson City did not exist until 1870. Everything about this "coin" screams fake/counterfeit to me also.

Indeed a counterfeit. It is preferable to destroy so nobody gets ripped off in the future.

It would be an obvious counterfeit without even looking at the reverse.

The Carson City mint began striking coins in 1870. While the first coins minted there were Seated dollars, they weren't backdated to 1842.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Unless you're specializing in fake coins, do the world a favor and throw it in the garbage.

I was at an auction earlier this year and watched a "1848 CC" sell for over $400. The auctioneer suggested that it "may" be a fake.
Impossible to have a CC before 1870.

Not sure "counterfeit" is the right word as an 1842-CC never existed to begin with. It's a fantasy toy. Sorry about the potentially dubious intentions to look like something of value.
