So I'm pretty new to this stuff but it's always been interesting to me. It's very exciting sometimes also.. now I'm finding myself very curious about something I have a nickel that is obviously messed up.
I can't identify the year on it it's too jacked up... I'm dying to know what's up with this coin I need help or pointed in the right direction...

@ave, first welcome to CCF. Also, I've moved your thread over to the correct subforum, but please post a pic of the other side of this coin. It looks pretty damaged to me, but seeing both sides will help us to figure out what is going on. Thx.

From the one side I would say corrosion but a photo of
the obverse would help.
Remember, damage to a coin is not an error.

Just a damaged coin. Damage never increases the value of a coin. (Just like a wrecked car is not worth more than a non damaged car) Just a spender.
