Hard to tell from pics but to me it looks like Machine Doubling to me. Maybe others with more experience will chime in as I am learning also

The top of the O (ONE) is reduced in width/thickness by the doubling which means its MD.

In the latest image, the light is reflecting differently off the top of ONE than it does in the first image but I'm not seeing the extra thickness.
Maybe add a link to the variety for quick comparison. Thanks

Note on the lower images posted by -makecents- the width of the devices are different. Also not on the bottom edge on the lower right side, there is a strong die scratch on that area on the DDR-002: Not seen on the EDS examples: But seen on the mid die state coins: Why are they seen one this die state? Because of die polishing, the die scratches on that area show. On the open fields of the dies, these die scratches flatten faster. But next to a device, they will last longer. They will reduce in size as the dies continue to strike more coins. But they make a nice marker to look for in determining the die states. (On the inside of closed devices, these die scratches last the longest) How can I prove that? Note on this example, the die scratches have almost faded away, except to the ones inside of the mintmark? Just more information to remember. CoopHome: Why are they important? They help identify certain dies if present. certain locations of scratches last longer on dies. fields fade fast. next to devices last longer. inside closed devices they last the longest.
