Do you know for sure about the scratch? I'll say EF-40.

It's straight graded, that's why I said assume.

Full horn says EF40 but to me I am not a huge fan of the coin, looks like a scratch across the face (could be the holder I am going with that) and the dirt in the recesses say to me it's been attempted to have been cleaned once, though not badly enough to warrant a details grade. It is fairly well struck for a 20's San Francisco mint coin. VF30 for me as it is, from NGC. A really tough date in EF40 or higher. Final answer VF30 EDIT: Didn't see the comment about the straight grade, so I'm changing my grade to VF35 now - I did look at a bunch of previous auction sales and every NGC VF has much less horn showing than this one, so there is a good chance I'm way low and it's EF40 or even 45 per the photos I ran across, going to stick with my gut feeling though, still a super coin in this condition.

I can see arguments for 35 or 40, I'd be closer to 40 myself, reverse is pretty strong and it's a good strike.

VF35 on a Monday grading session or XF40 on a Friday afternoon grading session.

I'm at XF40 on this one, assuming the obverse scratch is in the holder.
Your pics or seller pics @Jerry Picker?

XF 40 because of the strong horn. The coin does does not have much in eye appeal. If I am a buyer, I would wait for one with better eye appeal.
