A lot of the bubbles on these Kennedy half dollars are in the exact same spot. how can this be coincidence? It's right on the nose and mouth of JFK's face. if they were all in a fire wouldn't the bubbles be in different random areas?

they could be from chips on the dies, and you have multiple coins from the same pairt of dies

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've seen a 1971 Kennedy bubble in the same spot on this website from 2014. It got shrugged off as PMD but I'm not so sure.

That is absolutely 100% heat damage. The bubbles can occur in the same spot on each side or different, wherever the clad layers separate.

to the CCF I agree heat but maybe an acetylene torch. They put the tip only on that one spot. It would have only taken a second or two to cause the bubble.
