Pity this coin has sustained significant circulation wear.

Need to be confirmed as genuine, and the the 'SD' has not been expertly removed.
Unfortunately, I have seen scam coins for sale on ebay Google Images, where barely visible traces of 'SD' remains, but are proported to be "no SD".

Also unfortunately, the presence of scam coins lowers the possibility of getting a good price for a genuine coin, due to doubt in the mind of the buyer.

When authenticity has been established, there are two possibilities:-
1. -that it is a Grease Filled Die, or
2. -it could be a die variety.

Don't rely on ebay pricing; recently, some scam asking prices are over the moon, even for common coins !

IMO, if this coin is genuine, it may? have a value of perhaps $50.

Not a lot,maybe a A$ or so.

I'll leave it up to the guys on here for a more accurate valuation but I have noticed a couple of slabbed ones on ebay over the years.

Edit..Sel beat me to post.

Welcome to CCF.
The value varies wildly depending on the condition of the coin and the willingness of the buyer to part with money.
Search for "2 cent australian no sd" on ebay, and use the filters on the left side - under "Show Only" - selecting Sold
Lots of highs and lows, even the slabbed ones vary according to interest at the auctions

Quote:
-that it is a Grease Filled Die,

That was the general consensus at the time Sel,worn or filled Die.

That didn't stop certain Dealers milking it as a variety for all its worth.
