I know it's nothing fancy, but I work as a waitress and a table paid for their meal with the nicest 1995 bill I've seen and I just wanted to share. It even has a few small errors - the last digit of the serial is misaligned, some slight wet ink transfer, and it was cut slightly off center.

(I don't have a ton of extra money for hunting at shows or anything, nor do I have a walk-in bank nearby for coin roll or bank strap hunting so I really enjoy these little finds)

Cool circulation find. Back then, all of the districts starting with A, B, C, D, E were printed in DC. To save on shipping charges I presume.

Does it still have that new money smell ?

Nice find. Slip it into a sleeve for protection from fingers & folding.

to the Forum! Nice find! I work as a tour guide in England and my American customers often tip me in dollar bills, so I always check them for interesting serial numbers, star notes or older bills.

Thanks everyone!! I'll definitely be keeping it safe!!

I'm still dreaming about the 1935 silver certificate my coworker got last year... from a random table paying for their tab. Still mad she wouldn't sell it to me!! One day I'll get my own! It's insane what people just circulate without realizing what they have.

Good find!

You will get your own silver certificate one day! Some bills are not that valuable due to the condition.

Yes, some people do not realize what they have or they simply do not care as they are not interested?

Again, good find! &

"I like the irregular cut... shows character." I was just about to ask if the reverse was special enough to be an "error"?

Nice find Winterberry and it is in very good condition for being found in circulation. Another thing you can search for with Series 1995 as well as 1988A, 1993 notes is a web note. We dont talk about it often since it seems these older series rarely seem to be found in circulation much anymore so not sure how many still know to look for them. http://www.uspapermoney.info/general/webs.html

The good news on the 1935 silver certificates is that they are actually common even in high grade. These bills were printed by the billions and are therefore not rare. While 1935 $1 silver certificates are common, you could have a high grade or low serial number bill or even find a fancy serial number or error on one as far as increasing its value. The 1935 $1 silver certificates are very popular among beginner collectors because of its inexpensive cost and the fact it's a blue seal silver certificate bill. These notes come in many different colored serial numbers and seals depending on the variety you can try to collect. The regular issue 1935 $1 silver certificates have 9 different types: 1935, 1935A, 1935B, 1935C, 1935D, 1935E, 1935F, 1935G, and 1935H and there are star notes (replacement notes) also. So whether you break down and buy a extremely nice example without having to spend much or keep hoping another might pop up in circulation, they are a good one to consider. Personally my favorite find when I saw it for the first time was a 1928 because it had a funny back to it that looks so different from the modern notes.
