Your second image seems to show some secondary curves inside the upper and lower 8. Soaking it in acetone might confirm it isn't coincidental goop.

I see the Die Deterioration on the rim side of the numbers of the date but the separation on the inside of the 8 is raised like hub doubling and not flat/shelf-like.

Maybe some clearer images would help.

The reason I used the term worn die is because it is a pre single squeeze method of die making. If it was a single squeeze die, I would call it a DDD.
